Submission of Electronic Birth Certificate together with completed Life Certificate

The National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago (NIBTT) recently partnered with the Ministry of Legal Affairs with a view to having each insured person and beneficiary identified through his/her unique personal identification number (PIN) assigned to the Electronic Birth Certificate.

As a benefit recipient, you are required to submit a life Certificate to the NIBTT twice per year in order to avoid any interruption in the payment of your benefit.

The use of the unique PIN will in future, eliminate the need for you to submit a Life Certificate to the NIBTT every six months.

The first step therefore is for the NIBTT to update its records with the unique PIN for all persons in receipt of a Benefit.  In this regard, you are required to submit a copy of your Electronic Birth Certificate together with your completed Life Certificate to the NIBTT on or before Monday 23rd June 2014.

In order to facilitate this exercise, all our Service Centres will be open on Saturday 7th June and Saturday 14th June 2014 from 8 am t 12 noon to receive your completed life certificate and copy of your Electronic Birth Certificate.

With effect from January 7th 2008, the Board may reject or revoke the registration of any person or entity applying for registration as an employer where the registration is as a result of fraud, misrepresentation, or mistake.
